A Rowe Street man notified police last week after he was assaulted in his home by a gun-wielding acquaintance.

The man said he was in his home around 6 p.m. on Aug. 19 when someone knocked at his door. Without knowing who the visitor was, he told them to enter, the ODPS incident report stated.

Inside the home, a male acquaintance confronted the Rowe Street man, saying he owed him money, the report stated. The victim said he did not owe him money. The visitor then slapped the victim twice in the face, according to the report.

The victim said the man then pulled out a gun and pointed it at him, threatening to shoot him, the incident report stated, and the subject then threatened to burn down the victim’s house and come back with his “boys.”

In other reports:

* A North man reported a large quantity of metal posts missing as well as a truck on Monday.

The man said he had been away from his property for several weeks. When he returned on Monday he discovered about 400 metal posts, a metal gate and his 1987 Toyota pick-up truck missing.

The man said the truck did not have a license plate since it was used only on his property.

The truck and metal posts are valued at about $3,600, the incident report stated.

* A Louise Drive man called deputies when he realized someone had made off with his personal watercraft over the weekend.

The man said he discovered his 2000 Kawasaki SKX personal watercraft missing Monday from his property. The man said he had brought the $2,000 craft home from Santee.
