Obama realities cannot be ignored

In the past few years, The Times and Democrat published many letters written by Mr. Harry Coles but very few rebuttals or responses to his letters. I will respond to his letter in Sunday’s T&D.

Mr. Coles brings up the Rev. Wright in his letter and states that Obama should not be compared to or associated to this man because that was in the past.

He didn’t mention that when the Rev. Wright was cursing America and putting down white people that Mr. Obama was attending his church and did so for over 20 years — exposing his children to the hate speech of this man.

Even though Obama went to a Muslin school until he was 9 years old, I am sure their teaching had little affect on his life. The philosophy of the Catholic Church is: Give me a child from birth until 6 years old and he will be a Catholic for life. Does this also apply to Muslims and their philosophy?

Mr. Coles starts to speak about the present-day life of Obama but then brings up voter registration, busing and segregation, and then attacks white people and Newt Gingrich and his statements allegedly against blacks. I believe that he watched the fiction film Roots one time too many and internalized these concepts.

Mr. Coles fails to mention that Mr. Obama was a civil rights lawyer in Chicago for over 10 years and I have only one question: How many white people did Mr. Obama defend or represent during these years? Mr. Coles didn’t mention that as an Illinois senator, Obama cosponsored a bill to ban all handgun ownership.

Also that his pastor and mentor the Rev. Jeremiah Wright taught on the Black Liberation Theology, which is anti-white in its philosophy. Mr. Obama hasn’t denounced his friendship with Louis Farrakhan, who is a Black Muslim.

Mr. Coles, when you jump into the political arena, be prepared to receive criticism for your statements and comments.

" I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER HOW MANY MORE TIMES THIS SEEMINGLY RACIST MAN WILL BE ALLOWED TO PUT HIS GARBAGE IN THE T&D. MR. COLE, YOU ARE ONE OF THE MOST BLIND AND "OFF THE WALL" PEOPLE I HAVE EVER SEEN. ALL YOU SEE IS "BLACK IN THE WHITEHOUSE." YOU COULD CARE LESS ABOUT ANY OF THE DUMB THINGS THIS MAN HAS DONE. HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF A REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE SPENT HIS LAST 20 YEARS IN A CHURCH THAT PREACHED "KKK?" I CERTAINLY WOULDN'T LIKE IT ANY MORE THAT I DO FARRAHKAN'S TEACHING OF HATE AND REVENGE. WHY DON'T YOU JUST GET A JOB OR PLANT A GARDEN OR DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE FOR A CHANGE AND LEAVE THINGS YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT TO PEOPLE WHO DO KNOW ABOUT THEM? YOU NEED TO PRAY ALOT BECAUSE YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY A MAN WITHOUT GOD OR HOPE AND I TRULY FEEL VERY, VERY SORRY FOR YOU. "

" What is this?

These are all words of a man that must watch FOX News and Bill O'Reilly 24/7.

Mr. McClain, I have a question: How many times have you been denied civil rights? That is a question you should ask. (By the way...I am WHITE.)

Sir, I have one more question. Don't you think you should become more tolerant? I am sure you could be descriminated against. "
