A Cordova man told deputies he had to hit the deck Wednesday after he was targeted with a laser light, according to an OCSO incident report.

The man said he returned to his home around 10:35 p.m. When he got out of his vehicle, he had to duck to the ground when he saw a red light. He thought it was a laser sight for a firearm.

Deputies spoke with a neighbor in the direction of the light. She said she pointed the red light at the man to get him to turn off his bright lights, the report said.

In a separate report, a Cross man told deputies last week he discovered his missing vintage motorcycle at a Berkeley County junk yard.

The man said on Aug. 21 someone took his 1974 Honda “chopper” motorcycle. The man said the vintage scoot was worth $10,000.

The man said he called junk yards across Berkeley County until he found it. The workers there said he’d have to show proof of ownership. The man said the S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles told him the bike was too old to be in their records. The man could not find his title.
