Amanda Jean Morris of Chapin and Henry Mills Gallivan, junior of Greenville were married Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Boyce Chapel, First Baptist Church in Columbia. The Reverend Philip Vaughn officiated at the 6:30 pm ceremony. A reception followed at the Columbia Museum of Art.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Lee Morris of Chapin, is the granddaughter of Mrs. Amanda Proveaux Morris and the late Mr. R.L. Morris, junior, and Mr. Roy Hughes and the late Mrs. Jean McGarity Hughes, all of Chapin. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is employed as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Roger L. Couch in Spartanburg.

The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mills Gallivan of Greenville, is the grandson of Mrs. Herbert Hall Provence, junior and the late Mr. Provence, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Francis Gallivan, junior and the late Mrs. Genevieve Mills Gallivan, all of Greenville. He received a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from the Calhoun Honors College of Clemson University and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is employed by Smith Moore Leatherwood, LLP of Greenville.

The bride was escorted by her father, and given in marriage by her parents. Matron of honor was Mrs. Jennifer Morris Weber of Mt. Pleasant, sister of the bride. Maid of honor was Miss Leah Marie Galloway of Atlanta, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Rebekah Fogle Durr, Mrs. Jessica O’Cain Fralick, Miss Sally Elizabeth Shoaf, and Miss Jessica Sanders Wells, friends of the bride, and Miss Anne Genevieve Gallivan and Miss Harriet Provence Gallivan, sisters of the groom. Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Kathryn Ryan Burch and Miss Rachel Alexandria Dyches. Flower girls were Misses Emily Morgan Weber and Haley Nicole Weber, nieces of the bride.

Mr. Henry Mills Gallivan, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Mr. David Wells Alderman IV, Mr. Christopher Barrett Burley, Mr. James Harvey Cleveland IV, Mr. Anthony Foster McKissick IV, Mr. Matthew Paul Moller, friends of the groom, and Mr. Joshua Michael Morris and Mr. Philip Allan Morris, brothers of the bride. Ushers were Mr. Austin Lee Eargle, Mr. Daniel Edward Flynn, Mr. Justin Robert Hirsch, Mr. Andrew Paul Justice, and Mr. James Mullinax Wood. Ring bearer was Master Joshua Allan Morris, nephew of the bride.

Music was provided by Miss Elizabeth Ellen Provence, soloist, cousin of the groom; Mrs. Martha Hayes, organist; and Mr. Lavonne Bazemore, trumpeter. Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Nipper of Orangeburg and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hughes of Venice, Florida.

Following a honeymoon in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Greenville.
