SouthernCarolina Regional Development Alliance has announced that H. Mikell “Kell” Anderson has joined the alliance team as project manager for Bamberg County.

The announcement was made at SouthernCarolina Alliance’s Board of Directors meeting on August 26, where Anderson was introduced to the SCA board and advisers.

As SCA project manager, Anderson will coordinate economic development efforts for Bamberg County, which will entail working with the county economic development commission, county council, industry and community leaders, the S.C. Department of Commerce and the regional alliance board.

“Kell will be involved in all aspects of economic development for the county, including industrial product development and recruitment,” SouthernCarolina Alliance President Danny Black said. “Most importantly, he will work closely with our existing industries in the area, which create more than eighty percent of new jobs, as they do in any community.”

A 1993 graduate of Erskine College, Anderson has diverse experience in local government, management, tax law, infrastructure and real estate, and has served as Barnwell County Assessor since 1999. He is a S.C. licensed real estate appraiser, associate member of the Appraisal Institute, and a member of the S.C. Economic Developers Association.

“I look forward to working with our industry and community leaders in Bamberg County and throughout the SouthernCarolina Alliance region,” Anderson said. “Working with the alliance team presents an opportunity to truly make a difference in the quality of life for our children and grandchildren by providing an industrial tax base on which we can grow our communities. I believe we have some great opportunities ahead of us.”
