COLUMBIA (AP) — The five South Carolina football players involved in a campus altercation have decided not press charges.

University of South Carolina spokesman Russ McKinney said Friday police have not made any arrests, though the investigation is continuing.

Police responded to a fight Thursday afternoon at the Russell House, a student union area in the center of campus. A campus police report said the victims were Gamecocks defensive back Akeem Auguste, receiver C.C. Whitlock, offensive lineman Terrence Campbell, and linebackers Antonio Allen and Melvin Ingram.

McKinney said all five signed waivers against filing charges should anyone be arrested. He also said he didn’t expect the players to face charges.

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said he would let university police and administrators handle the case.
