An Orangeburg woman has recently opened a mobile dog grooming business.

Half Pints Mobile Grooming plans to provide Orangeburg residents and their dogs pampering opportunities. The owner/groomer is Lou Hill.

Half Pints, which will specialize in small dogs, will provide services including nail trimming, ear refreshning, message, shedding control, anal gland cleansing, bath and brush, teeth brushing, and bad breath control.

Services will be accompanied by gospel and classical music.

“I think I have a tiger by the tail,” Hill said, touting the business as unique for Orangeburg in that she will make house calls. “The dog will not have to leave the home.”

Half Pints will be open Monday through Saturday on off-work hours and on Saturdays on an on-call basis.

Hill is no stranger to dog grooming and dog handling. The 30-year veteran is certified in canine behavior, dog and obedience training. Hill has worked as a dog groomer since 1979 in California and Nevada.

In 1998, Hill served as an assistant dog groomer at the Tompson Animal Hospital and in 2000 served as an assistant at Pampered Pet Motel.
