Republicans and evangelical leadership
Friday, September 19, 2008Lately I have been hearing so much about Republicans seeking the evangelical votes. Frankly, I dont know what that means because over time Ive seen many of these candidates looking for the evangelicals to back them, and the evangelicals have been wrong. Could it be because the Republicans think that the evangelicals are so gullible theyll buy anything they say?
Look at what Bush did to them. Cursing people with an opened mic. There wasnt anything evangelical about him as far as I can see. I dont even use words like that any more. Neither do I call myself an evangelical. If anything I say he was more like the devil. What is the devil? He was a liar from the beginning and Bush certainly lied to us right in our faces.
I believe that they are wrong again for selecting Sarah Palin as the vice president for their party. But we know theyre just trying to get the women who voted for Hillary Clinton to vote Republican and many will fall for it. This is who will be the president if old man John should get into the White House and God forbid the worse should happen, he dies in office.
You evangelicals must read your Bibles. It tells you that in order to be a deacon or a pastor, you must be able to run your own house well and be of good report. You should not drink, be sober not seeking after filthy lucre, or money and wealth. She believed in abstinence and what has it gotten her? She wasnt even able to run her house well at all. She has a pregnant teenaged daughter who obviously didnt want to get married or she would have made all the proper arrangements to do so. Is this the way she will run the country? Oh by the way! I have a pregnant teenage daughter I cant control. Isnt that what Obama said, he wished there was a way that we could help to stop some of these unwanted teen pregnancies, but he wont talk about it.
I dont want anyone getting their wig all twisted about what I want to say. Im not downing the girl; people make mistakes. But people in high offices should be able to hold onto and live by those values they want to put on others. So we see that people are flawed no matter what their station in life. Baybe, but dont try to make it right after the facts have been thrown into the wind. Oh shes going to marry him now! Oh please!
Im not knocking teenage mothers. There have been plenty of those. Some people believe there have been too many. My mother was a teen mom and plenty of great people came into this world from teen mothers, but the problem is, it still happens. Just dont come in acting like you have the most class in the world and youre just another human being. Be what you are! Thats what life teaches us, that in the end, you are no better than anyone else, just a lump of clay or dirt like the rest of us. Wait a minute! Didnt Jesus come into this world by way of a teen mother? How about that? Think about it!
