Good to see citizens challenge poor judgment

I am encouraged by residents of our “Community of Character” writing to this page challenging the poor judgment of those in public positions.
Frank B. Estes III of Orangeburg has questioned the taxpayer cost and need of a proposed pedestrian bridge for the Chestnut Street entrance to South Carolina State University. The existing traffic-calming signals at the pedestrian crosswalk are working just fine. Thank you, Mr. Estes, for your common-sense “citizenship.”
Kenneth J. Griffith of Neeses believes the announced industrial park in his community is a waste of good farmland. Gregg Robinson of the Orangeburg County Development Commission even admitted that the park needed to be larger and lacked public sewer. Thank you, Mr. Griffith, for your “respect” for our agricultural heritage.
I look forward to the next positive display of community character on this page.
