MOX facility official to speak at S.C. State

Dave Stinson, president of Shaw Areva MOX. will speak at South Carolina State University on Wednesday as part of the business school’s Executive Speaker Series.
Stinson will speak on “Preparing to Enter the Global Market,” at noon Wednesday, Sept. 24 in Belcher Hall’s fourth floor auditorium.
Stinson has been president of Shaw Areva MOX Services since 2006. Shaw Areva MOX Services, based out of the Savannah River Site, was designed to build and operate a mixed oxide fuel fabrication facility.
Over the last 33 years, Stinson has gained broad experience in the government and commercial sectors.
Stinson earned his bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy and master’s degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Ala.
Upon leaving active duty in the Air Force, Stinson became founder and CEO of Digital Engineering, a 300-person software and engineering company.
Following the sale of Digital Engineering, Stinson joined the Tennessee Valley Authority where he served as project manager for the $1.5 billion recovery of Browns Ferry Unit Three, which was completed six months ahead of schedule and $120 million under budget.
Later, Stinson became the president of Intergraph Corp., a provider of spatial information management software.
Stinson and his wife Sandy live in Aiken with two of their four children.
