BLACKVILLE -- Trunks full of hand-crafted jeweled treasures by S.C. artisan Sarah Jolley will be displayed at the Rivers, Rails and Crossroads Discovery Center in Blackville beginning Saturday, Sept. 27. Guests will be able to meet the artist and enjoy refreshments from 1 to 5 p.m. at the center.

Jolley is of Beaver Creek Native American heritage and originally from Orangeburg County, "where an inclination for native art was apparent from an early age," she said. For 11 years, Jolley has designed and crafted each of her one-of-a-kind creations with unique gems, rocks and minerals. She currently lives and works in Aiken County.

The meet-the-artist reception is free and open to the public. The trunk show will be displayed at the Discovery Center through Oct. 23. RSVP for the opening reception is recommended. For more information or reservations, call 803-284-3976 or e-mail blackvilledc@scprt.com.
