An Orangeburg woman was arrested Monday after an Edisto Drive resident watched two people walk away with her patio furniture.

The woman told deputies that at around 1:20 p.m., her roommate saw the subjects enter the yard and remove a set of iron chairs and a table. The roommate confronted the individuals, who said the owner gave the items to them to exchange for food. The owner denied this, the report said.

Orangeburg Recycling employees gave deputies the description of a pair who had brought in an iron table and chairs. Deputies located a woman matching the description of one of them walking down the street.

When confronted, the suspect admitted taking the chairs but said she needed the money for food.

As she was being arrested, the woman dropped a plastic wrapper that contained what deputies believed to be crack cocaine.

In other reports:

* A Riverbank Drive woman notified deputies Monday after realizing a quantity of jewelry was missing from her home.

The woman said she had been away for about a month. But when she returned, she noticed about $1,800 of her jewelry was missing.

A 22-year-old man who lives with the woman said he did not take the jewelry, the report said. The woman said she later learned a female friend of the man who lives with her had lived at the residence in her absence.

* A Santee man reported two minibikes stolen from his property Monday. The man said he had secured his green 1996 Kawasaki and black Suzuki 50 with a cable. The cable had been cut, he said. A witness saw two young men pushing the $1,500 minibikes through the victim’s backyard.

* A Four Holes Road man reported a 2001 utility trailer loaded with $742 worth of lumber missing Monday.
