An Orangeburg woman was arrested Monday after an Edisto Drive resident watched two people walk away with her patio furniture.
The woman told deputies that at around 1:20 p.m., her roommate saw the subjects enter the yard and remove a set of iron chairs and a table. The roommate confronted the individuals, who said the owner gave the items to them to exchange for food. The owner denied this, the report said.
Orangeburg Recycling employees gave deputies the description of a pair who had brought in an iron table and chairs. Deputies located a woman matching the description of one of them walking down the street.
When confronted, the suspect admitted taking the chairs but said she needed the money for food.
As she was being arrested, the woman dropped a plastic wrapper that contained what deputies believed to be crack cocaine.
