South Carolina releases basketball schedule
Wednesday, October 08, 2008COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — New South Carolina coach Darrin Horn will face nine teams that played in the NCAA tournament last year in his first season with the Gamecocks.
Horn and the school announced the schedule Tuesday.
Horn’s first game is Nov. 14 at Colonial Life Arena against Jacksonville State. The team’s biggest nonconference games are at Baylor and against Clemson, both NCAA tournament teams a year ago.
Southeastern Conference regular-season play starts Jan. 10 at home against Auburn and concludes on March 7 at Georgia. The Gamecocks will then play in the SEC tournament in Tampa, Fla.
Horn took over last spring for Dave Odom, who left after eight seasons with the Gamecocks.
