Write-in vote is a waste

This letter is in response to Mr. Oxner and any other person who is thinking of writing in a candidate for president of the United States, or not voting at all on Nov. 4.

The person you want to be president may not be running this year, and we are all pretty sick of the politicians at this point. However, make no mistake about it, there are only two people who can be our next president – John McCain or Barack Obama. One of these two men WILL win.

There is NO way a write-in candidate can be elected in this national race. Therefore, if you are thinking of writing in Ron Paul or anyone else, or not voting at all, not only will you be throwing away your vote, you actually will be helping elect the candidate that you feel is least qualified.

Let’s get real here. Think about it!!

– Freida Earley, Orangeburg
