ELLOREE -- Ghosts, witches and assorted goblins will assemble for a special Halloween event in Elloree.

"Trunk or Treat," sponsored by the Elloree Police Department, the Town of Elloree and the Pythian Sisters of Elloree Temple No. 4, will be held at Joe Miller Park from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Children 12 and under and their parents, grandparents and neighbors are invited to the event. There is no admission fee, and parking is free.

The Elloree Police Department will be distributing trick-or-treat bags and wristbands to the children for free games and treats at the booths. Two contests will be featured -- the "Bring Your Own Pumpkin Contest" and the "Trunk, Tent or Booth Decorating Contest" -- with judging at 6:30 p.m.

"We are still seeking volunteers to set up trunks and distribute candy, as well as sponsors to contribute additional candy," Town Clerk Chasity Canaday said.
