At the halfway point in the volleyball season, Claflin University's volleyball team finds themselves currently at 11-10 overall and 6-6 in SIAC play. Claflin competes in the Eastern Division of the SIAC along with Clark-Atlanta, Albany State, Fort Valley State, Benedict College, and Paine College.

Claflin has a record of 1-5 in the Eastern Division, defeating rival Benedict College, and losing to Clark-Atlanta, Fort Valley State, and Albany State, while sporting a 5-1 record against Western Division opponents.

The Lady Panthers recently competed in the SIAC Cross-Over Tournament held in Albany, GA. In this tournament, teams from the west played teams from the east. Claflin held their own in the interdivisional tournament winning five of six matches. Claflin defeated Tuskegee University, Lane College, Miles College, Kentucky State, and LeMoyne-Owen. Their lone loss was to Stillman College. With such a successful tournament, Claflin University is solidly in fourth place in the conference and fourth in the Eastern Division, behind Albany State, Fort Valley State, and Clark-Atlanta.

Coach Vernell Keitt-Capers' team will compete outside of the conference in their next two matches hosting Brewton Parker on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and Voorhees College on Wednesday, Oct. 22 before returning to conference play.
