Palin has no business as commander in chief

Sens. Obama and McCain are both making promises they intend to keep. But if past experience is any indication, they will not. Those promises will most likely remain mere puffs of dust on the running track.

But after listening to a few interviews with Gov. Palin and the press, I really don’t think that I would like to see her, in a worse-case scenario, become our commander in chief. Nor do I think she would stand up well against some of the world’s brightest leaders in discussions of world events.

Some of these leaders are not our friends. How would she make out in a one-on-one with Vladimir Putin, for instance?

– John Gerlach, Orangeburg
