South Carolina State University faculty and staff will spend the week of Oct. 27-30 reaffirming their commitment to university constituents as part of Customer Appreciation Week.
“There is a clarion call to promote excellence in service delivery to our constituents, and Customer Appreciation Week demonstrates our gratitude for being able to serve them,” said Dr. Carl E. Jones, executive director for student success and retention and chairman of Customer Appreciation Week.
“S.C. State has identified several opportunities for improvement in customer service and is committed to promoting accountability to university donors and benefactors, university students and South Carolina taxpayers,” he said.
On Monday, the university will begin its celebration with “Wristband Day.” Administrators, faculty, staff, and students will join in solidarity by wearing wristbands that say, “SC State Appreciates You!”
On Tuesday, President Dr. George E. Cooper will charge and challenge the campus community to deliver the best service in the nation at the “Quality Service ... The SC State Way” general assembly at 10 a.m. in the Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium on campus.
S.C. State’s faculty and staff will participate in an interactive training entitled “Best Practices in Telephone Etiquette,” which will be held in the Barbara A. Vaughn Recital Hall in the Fine Arts Center on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
On Thursday, the campus community will enjoy “Bulldog Voter Bingo,” where there will be food and fellowship and a reminder for all eligible voters to cast their votes on Nov. 4.
