SCSU now ranked in three major polls
By THOMAS GRANT JR., T&D Senior Sports Writer Tuesday, October 28, 2008South Carolina State now has a presence in all three polls used by the Football Championship Subdivision to determine postseason berths.
Propelled by Saturday’s 35-13 thumping of previously-ranked Hampton, South Carolina State entered both the Sports Network and AnyGivenSaturday.com Top 25 FCS polls for the first time this season.
The Bulldogs entered the Sports Network poll at 22nd and 23rd in the AGS poll.
Meanwhile, a week after debuting in the FCS Coaches Poll, S.C. State (6-2, 4-0) moved up four places to 20th. In the Sheridan Black College Football poll, S.C. State remained at number two behind Division II school Tuskegee.
Also moving up the polls was Wofford which moved up to 3rd in the Sports Network and AGS polls, but remained at 5th in the Coaches Poll.
Fellow Palmetto State school Furman also remained ranked in the polls despite its loss this past weekend.
