A Holly Hill dealership is down two cars after accepting a bogus check last week.

Employees of Cash Cars of Holly Hill said an Elloree man came into the dealership on Oct. 20 and used a $5,800 cashier’s check to purchase two pre-owned vehicles, a Cadillac and a Dodge Intrepid, both 1999 models, according to the incident report.

Later, the bank notified the car dealership that the check was fake. The manager said he went to the address given by the Elloree man. The house was vacant, however.

* A North woman notified deputies last week of some harassing calls she believes she’s been getting from one of her in-laws.

In a report released Tuesday, the woman told deputies on Oct. 17 that someone would call her a whore and hang up. The woman said that by the sound of the voice, she believes the caller to be her mother-in-law, a woman in Dorchester County, the report said. The woman said her mother-in-law has done this before.

* A Holly Hill woman contacted law enforcement Monday when she noticed a quantity of jewelry missing from her home.

The woman said she discovered several pieces of diamond jewelry, including two diamond wedding ring sets and a diamond ring, missing from her jewelry box, the report said. The woman said the jewelry is valued at about $1,460.

* A Longwood Drive woman reported on Monday that her utility trailer was missing. The woman said that at around 7 a.m., she discovered her black metal trailer missing from her garage. She said she’d found what appeared to be pry marks around her garage door, where the $1,500 trailer was kept, the report said.

* A Holly Hill woman on Monday reported some odd occurrences at her home. The woman said her heating and air conditioning unit was not working properly and blew dust in her face. She said her phone wasn’t allowing her to call out and would cut her off in mid-conversation, the report said.

“The victim advised she cannot go out of the house or people will come through the cracks in the door and move items around,” according to the incident report. The woman told deputies she hears people underneath her home and believes someone “is going to bump her off,” the report continues. She told the officers that others say she’s crazy, but she said she’s only crazy for Jesus.
