Evelyn Anderson, a certified public accountant, has been hired as the internal audit director for South Carolina State University.

Having more than 20 years of professional experience, Anderson's qualifications include a wide array of audit, accounting, financial and consulting know-how.

Anderson received her bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Houston, Texas and went on to attain her public accountancy certification.

Prior to joining S.C. State, Anderson served as senior business consultant for International Profit Associates, Inc. in Chicago, Ill., where she consulted businesses in profitable growth management and cost control strategies.

She served as senior associate at The Wesley Peachtree Group, CPAs in Atlanta, Ga., where she managed and conducted audits and provided consulting services to higher education clients. Additionally, she has served as controller, project accountant and in other audit, accounting and financial capacities with various corporate entities over the years.

"We are very pleased to have Ms. Anderson join the university staff as she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this important position," said S.C. State President George E. Cooper.
