BAMBERG – An apparent victim of domestic violence called the Bamberg Police Department on Oct. 23 to report her husband body slammed her in the roadway, leaving her with multiple injuries.

When officers arrived on the scene, the 47-year-old Bridge Street woman had a bleeding cut on her forehead and abrasions near her eye, according to the incident report. She also had scrapes down her right side and bleeding abrasions on her knee, the report said. The victim’s story was recorded in a written and audiotape statement.

Police located the woman’s husband nearby on Main Street and brought him back to the scene, where he was arrested and charged with third-offense criminal domestic violence. Both husband and wife had been drinking, the police report said.
