 Orangeburg County

Sheriff’s Office

A woman visited a Bowman house Wednesday to measure the door, only to discover the house had burned down, according to an OCSO incident report.

The victim said she had no idea how it burned, the report said. Dispatch said it had no information about a fire at the Catawba Road location.

In other reports:

n A deputy responding to a call about an automobile fire on Hickson Drive on Wednesday discovered a burned-out 2007 Honda Accord reported stolen from a St. Matthews woman.

n Two Orangeburg residents reported on Tuesday that their credit has been messed up by other people, according to OCSO incident reports.

The first, a 21-year-old, presented deputies with a copy of her credit report. She said there were charges from M&I and Verizon that she didn’t make.

A 24-year-old then presented her credit report which also showed unauthorized charges. She called the companies that reported the charges, which asked if she lives in California. She took that to mean the charges were made in California.

n A Holly Hill man said he visited two of his Orangeburg properties on Stilton Road in Orangeburg on Wednesday to prepare them for tenants. When he got there, he found someone had pulled the copper wire from the walls and ceiling and caused other damage totalling $8,000.
