Trinity Presbyterian Bible conference begins Sunday
Friday, November 07, 2008Trinity Presbyterian Church will offer a Bible conference Nov. 9-11 at the church. The public is invited to attend.
Leading the conference will be the Rev. Conrad "Buster" Brown, senior pastor at East Cooper Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. His messages will center on the theme "Standing Against the Wiles of the Devil."
Brown was born in Yadkinville, N.C. After graduating from high school, he attended and graduated from The Citadel in 1976 with a bachelor's degree in history. He then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and earned his master's degree in divinity in 1981. While in Texas, he married his wife, Sara, and they have two children, Zack and Anna-Kathryn.
Brown served as a journeyman missionary with the International Mission Board of the SBC in Singapore from 1976 to 1978, as a church planter in Farmington, N.M., during the summer of 1977 and was minister to college students at Grace Temple Baptist Church in Denton, Texas, from 1978 to 1982. In 1982, he began his pastorate at the newly organized East Cooper Baptist Church.
Brown said his desire is to see men and women brought to full stature and maturity in Christ and to live, teach, mentor and disciple in such a way that future generations are more Godly than present generations. He said he also longs to see people develop a world view and life that allows them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, according to 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.
The conference will begin with a 6:30 p.m. service Sunday, Nov. 9, followed by a dessert fellowship at 7:30 p.m. The conference resumes at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, with a hot dog-hamburger meal provided by the church and the service at 6:30 p.m. The final evening of the conference begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, with a missions fund-raising dinner followed by the service at 6:30 p.m. Activities for children in kindergarten through fifth-grade will be provided.
