BRANCHVILLE – Branchville Town Council members agreed to advertise the sale of a town police car after questions were asked about the sale process during their regular meeting Monday night.

The town will advertise the vehicle for sale with a minimum bid of $5,500, reserving the right to reject any and all bids for the vehicle. A committee will meet to open the bids and determine whether or not one will be accepted on Nov. 10.

In other business:

* Mayor Tim Cooner announced an officer submitted his resignation as a member of the Branchville Police Department, citing low pay and the need to work two jobs to make ends meet. Cooner said it is the second time this particular individual has come to work for the town as an officer and the second time he has resigned.

* Council agreed to hold its regular December meeting on Dec. 8.

* It was announced that a Christmas lighting ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 at Branch Junction.
