StarTrans Bus officials are accusing an employee of stealing diesel from the company and selling it at reduced prices, according to an OCSO incident report.

StarTrans officials allege the employee has stolen an estimated $10,000 worth of gasoline over the past two months using a company gas card.

In other reports:

* Two men, one of them an adolescent, are accused of attempting to steal a truck filled with animal feed from Weathers Farm Inc. in Bowman Tuesday morning. They were eventually apprehended by dairy employees and the dairy owner, according to an OCSO incident report.

The dairy owner pursued the suspects, finding them parked at the corner of Arista Road and Wintercreek Road. He pulled in front of the truck in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado when the subjects accelerated and hit the victim's vehicle, causing about $2,500 in damage, the report said.

* Gibbs Automotive on St. Matthews Road reported a 2003 Cadillac DeVille missing Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle is valued at $13,000.

* A Cordova man reported someone stole about $3,300 worth of tools from a storage building. The items stolen from the Buster Lane building included camping gear, saws, a dirt bike and an all-terrain vehicle.

* An Orangeburg man discovered his 1997 Ford Taurus, valued at $3,500, missing from his driveway Tuesday night after he left the car running to go inside his home to the bathroom.

* A Glenfield Circle Apartment received $5,000 worth of damage early Tuesday morning. Holes were punched in walls and paint was sprayed on the walls and poured on the floor. Officials indicated they believe the matter is gang related.

* Orangeburg County fire departments responded to two chimney fires Wednesday night sparked by improperly cleaned chimneys.

The fires occurred after 9 p.m. at a Bowman residence and a Beason Road residence. There was no significant damage reported and no injuries.

"This was the first time (the chimneys) were used this year," said Teddy Wolfe, the county's chief operations officer. In one of the cases, the chimney had not been cleaned in at least three years.

"This could have been prevented if time had been taken to clean them out before starting. This is a normal occurrence for us," he said.
