CORDOVA - Cordova Town Council decided during its Nov. 17 meeting that the town's Christmas celebration will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 in the newly renovated Cordova Town Hall.

Refreshments will be served, and the entertainment will include a tree lighting ceremony.

Councilwoman JoAnne Mooney said she will provide decorations, and it was agreed that fliers about the event would be distributed prior to Dec. 13.

In other business, the council:

* Decided not to participate in Denmark's Christmas parade.

* Agreed to buy a $40 advertisement in Carver-Edisto Middle School's yearbook with a photo of the Cordova welcome sign as a logo.

* Discussed the possibility of placing electricity in the town's proposed recreational park to be used for equipment for musical groups.

* Heard from Mayor James Martin, who reported that the roof on the barbecue shed had been completed as have all major renovations to the town hall.
