A Norway man was charged with domestic violence Wednesday after an altercation with a girlfriend and several family members.

A Winchester Avenue woman called deputies at around 4 p.m., saying her son was drunk and at her home causing problems. She said her son was upset because he wanted to retrieve his son and take him to his home nearby.

The woman said he was also angry because his girlfriend had come to the house to get her hair done.

When he didn't get his way, he began pushing several family members around inside the home, the incident report said. When his father came in, he pushed him, too, and his father pushed back, the report said.

When deputies arrived, the 23-year-old subject had already left. But as deputies were speaking with the family, the man returned.

He called out to his girlfriend, saying he wanted her to come outside so he could talk to her, the report said. When she exited the home, he began punching her in the face, according to the report. While the subject had the woman on the ground, he broke her cell phone, the report said.

Deputies broke up the assault and charged the man with criminal domestic violence and malicious injury to personal property.

* An Orangeburg County man reported a drill set stolen from his pick-up while he ran errands Wednesday.

The man said that at around 9:17 a.m., he drove to a local hardware store where he placed a Makita drill set in the back of the truck. After exiting the hardware store, he drove to Bojangles for breakfast, the report said.

As the man was leaving the fast food restaurant, he spotted two men swapping a Makita drill set and what appeared to be money, the report said.

The sight of the drill set reminded the man of his own. He looked into the back of his truck and saw his $275 set was missing, according to the report.

* A Loraleigh Road woman reported her car vandalized Wednesday morning. The woman said at about 7:40 a.m., she discovered someone had broken out the glass in her sunroof, sliced all four tires, cut the seats and scratched the paint on the passenger side. She estimated the damage to the 2002 Nissan will run about $1,500.

* A Cordova woman said a friend pulled a gun on her last week in a dispute over a cat. The woman said that on Nov. 20, she took three cats to a friend to pick one out because she had planned to get rid of them. When she took the three cats to her friend, the friend picked out a male.

The woman said the friend would not give the cat back. She said her boyfriend wanted the cat but the friend wouldn't return it. She said she and her boyfriend went by to see the friend about it and when she exited her car, the woman pointed a gun at her, demanding she leave, the incident report said.

Deputies spoke with the friend, who said the woman gave her the cat. She said when the woman and three other individuals later drove onto her property, she asked them to leave four times. She told the deputies she didn't have a gun to point at the individuals, the report said.
