William & Mary beats SCSU 74-63

 LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — David Schneider scored 22 points to lead William & Mary to a 74-63 win over South Carolina State on Friday night.

Schneider shot 6-for-11 from the field, including 5-for-8 from 3-point range.

The Tribe (3-3) also received a boost from Danny Sumner, who scored 20 points on 8-for-15 shooting.

The Bulldogs (3-2) were paced by Jason Flagler, who had 20 points. Jason Johnson also contributed in the losing effort, scoring 16 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

William & Mary outrebounded South Carolina State 38-29 in the first round of the Liberty Thanksgiving Classic. The Tribe also made a significant impact with their 3-point shooting, with 10 of their 26 field goals coming from beyond the 3-point arc.

The Bulldogs struggled from the free-throw line, converting only half of their attempts (8-for-16).
