ELLOREE -- The Town of Elloree's 2008 "Lights of Winter" is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6.

From 4 to 6 p.m., fun-filled activities will be taking place throughout the town, and holiday sales are on tap at stores on downtown Cleveland Street.

Another draw will be the town's second annual Cooking on Cleveland Cook-Off, with participants including the Elloree Police Department, Pythian Sisters of Elloree Temple No. 4, the Elloree Lions Club, Old Mil House Gift Shoppe, the Mentor Book Club, Casual Habits and the Elloree Heritage Museum. Folks can sample food provided by the participants, free of charge, and vote for their favorite with a donation that will benefit the museum.

The Pork Fest Pigs will also make their final appearance in Elloree on Saturday night for a silent auction that will benefit specially designated Pork Fest projects, including the purchase of Christmas decorations for S.C. 6. The pigs are currently on display at Elloree Town Hall, South Carolina Bank and Trust, Burkhardt Ltd., Charmingly Southern Antiques, the Elloree Heritage Museum and South by Southwest.

Winners of the silent auction will be announced at 6 p.m., along with the first-, second- and third-place winners of the cook-off.
