Police are looking for the man who did a snatch-and-grab at a John C. Calhoun Drive restaurant on Friday, according to an ODPS incident report.

China Buffet employees said a man entered the business and placed an order. As the clerk was giving him change, the man reached across the counter and grabbed a fistful of money from the open drawer. The man then took off of foot.

The China Buffet workers said the suspect is a black man about 6 feet tall and weighing about 175 pounds. He was wearing a black hat, blue jean shorts and a black shirt.

If anyone has any information on the subject, they are asked to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC or the ODPS at 803-534-2812.

In a separate incident, police are reviewing security video after a Broughton Street convenience store was burglarized Sunday night.

The owner of the Quick Pantry told police that at some time between 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., someone made their way into the business and took a small amount of cash and Newport cigarettes.

Video shows the burglar wearing gloves during the break-in.
