SANTEE - Residents of Bradford Village in Santee donated money to purchase hams as well as other food items to be distributed to some older residents for the holidays.

"The village residents appreciate Piggly Wiggly's help in stretching our donated dollars," said Maryann Long, president of the Bradford Village Association, "and Chief Barnett for all his help."

Chief Edward Barnett of the Santee Fire District coordinated the distribution.

"This is the third year Bradford Village and the Fire Department have joined forces to bring Christmas joy to approximately 35 residents," Barnett said. "It is a joy to see the smiles on their faces when (Bradford Village resident) Alan Shurtleff and I deliver the packages."

Bradford Village and the Santee Fire District also join forces to distribute turkeys and food items at Thanksgiving.
