An Orangeburg man was hauled to jail after he allegedly went bananas in the John C. Calhoun Drive Pizza Hut Sunday afternoon, according to an ODPS incident report.

Employees said the man began screaming repeatedly about wanting his money back. They claimed he turned over the jukebox and a nearby dining table, shattering not only a salt and pepper shaker set but the patience of the manager, who called police on the 53-year-old.

The officers said the man was still yelling about his money when they arrived. They learned he apparently wanted a refund for 50 cents he had put into the jukebox.

He was taken to jail, charged with public disorderly conduct and malicious injury to personal property.

In a separate incident, a Tennessee man was charged early Saturday after someone said he was driving recklessly in a Chestnut Street hotel parking lot.

A man staying at Jameson Inn called police around 1:20 a.m., saying he was awakened by a noise outside, according to an ODPS incident report. He said he spotted a blue Toyota truck nearly hit several cars, including his own.

When police arrived, they noticed smoke still coming from the engine of the truck. Several tire spin marks were nearby. They said they found a half-empty bottle of vodka on the floorboard of the truck.

When they located the driver, he said, "there is something wrong with my truck," according to the report.

Police indicated they thought something was wrong with the 50-year-old's driving when they charged him with reckless driving, public disorderly conduct and illegal transporting of liquor.

A man notified deputies Saturday after he and a sibling fought over their mother's possessions, according to an OCSO incident report.

The man said he was visiting with his mother at the Methodist Oaks around 1:30 p.m. when his brother arrived. A dispute broke out over their mother's possessions. The man said he was punched in the nose.

In other reports:

* An Orangeburg man said he was assaulted early Saturday and treated at the hospital.

The man said he was waking along Jamison Avenue around 3:30 a.m. when he was approached by a character he knows only as "Monkey Do," according to an OCSO incident report. The man said Monkey Do punched him, kicked him and hit him several times.

He said Monkey Do may have hit him with a handgun. He said he saw one but wasn't sure if it was used to strike him.

The man suffered several lacerations, bruises and cuts from the attack, the report said.

* A pair of Neeses women said they received threats against their property, according to an OCSO incident report.

The women said that around 5:50 p.m. Sunday, a man they know as "Doo-Doo" called them saying he was going to shoot up their house. He said one of their friends told him to do it.
