Claflin to play at Tuskegee this evening

The Claflin women will take on Tuskegee at 5:30 p.m., with the men’s game scheduled to take place at 7:30 in Tuskegee, Alabama.

High School Wrestling

Cheraw 48, Edisto 24

CORODOVA -- Edisto lost in the third round of the state duals.

Winners for the Cougars were 112-pounder Andrew Gleaton, 145-pounder Dean Myers, 160-pounder Lawrence Buck, 215-pounder Josh Bingham and heavyweight Robbie Fisk.

Edisto finishes the season 29-5.

High School Basketball

Varsity Boys

Orangeburg Prep 54, W.W. King 38


BATESBURG -- Evan Salley had 27 points and Neal Smith had 14 points for OPS

OPS (9-15) will play at Laurence Manning on Thursday.

Varsity Girls

Orangeburg Prep 55, W.W. King 42


BATESBURG -- Barkley Stoudenmire led OPS with 17 points.

Lauren Holley added 13 points for the Lady Indians and Kate Edwards had 12. OPS (22-4) will travel to Laurence Manning Thursday.

Calhoun Academy 44, Dorchester Academy 37 (Wednesday)

Hannah Bozard scored 14, Jessica Lyons 11 and Kelsey Sanders 10 to lead CA.

JV Girls

Orangeburg-Wilkinson 30, White Knoll 23


Carissa Waddell had nine and Rachel Blocker had eight.

O-W (6-9) will play at Richland Northeast Thursday.

Lake Marion 60, Stall 10

SANTEE -- Samantha Haney led Lake Marion with 19 points and Shandraka Geathers had nine.

Lake Marion (8-6) will play at Battery Creek Thursday.



Middle School Girls

Clark Middle 53, John Ford 26


Sad-e Johnson had 18 and Saukita Glober had 13 to lead Clark Middle (14-2).

Clark will play in the playoff semifinals Wednesday against Manning in Sumter at Chestnut Oaks.

Orangeburg Prep 24, W.W. King 20

BATESBURG -- The Lady Indians middle school team downed the W.W. King JV team.

Cassidy Hills led the way with 11 points, Carolina Summers had five and Ali Stephens four for OPS (11-3).
