Claflin men ousted in SIAC tournament
By Claflin Sports Information Sunday, March 08, 2009BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Claflin shot 31 percent from the field and only six percent from beyond the 3-point line in their 65-61 overtime loss to LeMoyne-Owen on Saturday.
The top-seeded Panthers were led in scoring by David Cobb with 16 points. Phillip Brown contributed 12 and Eric Salley came away with 11 in the team’s first SIAC tournament
LeMoyne-Owen was led by Rasul Buluu with a game-high 22 points. Greg Hill finished with 12 for the Magicians as Maurice Mickens added 11.
The Magicians move on to the SIAC title game to take on the Lane Dragons, who defeated Benedict College earlier Saturday afternoon.
