Branchville 10, Allendale-Fairfax 0 (Game One)

Branchville 12, Allendale-Fairfax 2 (Game Two)

BRANCHVILLE - Tyler Meets had five hits and three RBIs and Grayson Garrett had four hits and five RBIs to lead the Yellow Jackets to a Region 6-A doubleheader sweep.

Tyler Looper and David Pinckney were the respective winning pictures in Games 1 and 2 for Branchville (11-2. 7-1), who face Calhoun County on Friday.

Pelion 5, Edisto 3

CORDOVA - Despite two hits from pitcher Seth Cooper, the Cougars fell to defeat Tuesday night.

Winning pitcher Wesley Cook went 4-for-4 at the plate and Ken Smoak had three hits for the Panthers.

Edisto (8-7, 4-3) travels to Barnwell on Thursday for a 7 p.m. game.

Holly Hill Academy 5, Thomas Sumter Academy 4 (9 innings)

SUMTER - John Tweed went 2-for-4, including the go-ahead RBI double to lift the Raiders to victory on Tuesday.

Zach Brownlee struck out 10 batters and allowed five hits in picking up the victory for HHA (6-5, 2-4), who play host to Bowman Academy on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Calhoun Academy 10, Dorchester Academy 7ST. GEORGE - Trez Wienges went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Matt Arant drove in two runs on two hits in support of himself to lead the defending SCISA Class 2-A champions on Tuesday.

On the mound, Arant struck out six batters and allowed just one hit in four innings of work for the Cavaliers (5-4, 4-1). Calhoun Academy faces Richard Winn Academy at home today.

Trevor Davis and Jamie Collins each had two hits for Dorchester Academy.

Irmo 18, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 0

Emmanuel Mitchell took the loss for O-W.

Chris Aiken led the Bruins at the plate with a double.

Varsity Softball

Branchville 20, Allendale-Fairfax 10

ALLENDALE - Brooke Easterling went 3-for-5 and Elizabeth Ecklar had two hits to lead the Lady Yellow Jackets to a Region 6-A victory Tuesday.

Katie Pruett picked up the victory for the Lady Yellow Jackets (3-3, 3-2), who play host to Calhoun County on Friday.

Bethune-Bowman 18, Calhoun County 11ROWESVILLE - Rhonda Hook struck out eight batters and Somazia Pelzer went 5-for-5 with eight RBIs to lead the Lady Mohawks to a Region 5-A victory on Tuesday.

Jasmine Shuler also went 5-for-5 for Bethune-Bowman (3-4, 3-4) and drove in four RBIs.

The Lady Mohawks travel to Cross on Thursday.

Jefferson Davis 5, Andrew Jackson 2

BLACKVILLE -- Kasey Owens picked up the win, striking out nine over five innings.

Owens and Katelyn Bell were 2-for-3 at the plate; Dallas Hutto and Catherine Williams were 1-for-3.

JDA improved to 5-5 overall and 4-0 in region with the win.

Orangeburg Prep 2, Robert E. Lee 1

OPS falls to 6-3 on the season.

Kayla Mims took the loss for the Lady Indians. Mims, Julia Bonnette, Barkley Stoudenmire and Charlsy Terry led the team in hitting.

OPS host Laurence Manning Thursday at 5 p.m.

Varsity Golf

OCA wins tri-match

BISHOPVILLE -- Orangeburg Christian improved to 5-0 with a tri-match victory over Carolina Christian and Emmanuel Christian.

OCA fired a 142; Carolina shot a 155 and Emmanuel 179. Landon Hay fired a low-round of 42 for OCA.

Varsity SoccerBAMBERG -- Tario Preacher led B-E with two goals and Casey Toomer added one goal and an assists.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt 3, Edisto 1

B-E (8-1-1) hosts Blackville-Hilda this evening at 5:30.

JV Baseball

Wilson Hall 6, Orangeburg Prep 2

SUMTER -- Sean Odom (0-1) took the loss for OPS (8-5).

Taylor Young led the Indians at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI; Taylor Griffith was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

JV Softball

Robert E. Lee Academy 4, Orangeburg Prep 2

BISHOPVILLE - Kassidy Eklund struck out seven batters and went 2-for-3 at the plate, but still took the loss for the JV Lady Indians on Tuesday.

Haley Craven also went 2-for-3 and Tiffany Ferguson had two RBIs for OPS (7-2-1), who next play Laurence Manning on Thursday.

B-Team Baseball

Orangeburg Prep 4, Robert E. Lee Academy 3 (Game One)

Robert E. Lee Academy 5, Orangeburg Prep 1 (Game Two)

It was a split doubleheader to finish the season for the Orangeburg Prep B-Team.

In Game One, Matthew Berry went 2-for-3 and Hobie Dennis picked up the victory to improve to 4-0 for the B-team Indians.

Game Two saw Berry get a hit, but took the loss on the mound.

OPS finishes the season with a 10-6 mark.

City of Orangeburg Parks and Recreation

Fast Break League - Wednesday, April 1

7 p.m. - O’Bombers vs. All-Stars

8 p.m. - Lakers vs. Motown

Youth Summer Basketball Registration

The Orangeburg Parks and Recreation Department will hold registration for the youth summer basketball season from April 6 to April 24.

Children ages 8 to 12 are eligible to play. Participants will be placed in a league based on age.

There is a $45 registration fee per player. City residents will receive a $25 discount with valid proof of their physical address.
