Varsity Baseball

Bamberg-Ehrhardt 12, Metawan (W. Va.) 0

PAWLEYS ISLAND - Randon Sandifer improved to 2-0 for the Red Raiders after allowing one hit and striking out three at the Mingo Bay Classic.

Dustin Callahan led B-E at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance including a triple and four RBIs. Rob Wrightenberry was 2-for-3 with a double. Will Medlin also went 2-for-3.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt will play Waccamaw, the host team of the Mingo Bay Classic, at 7 p.m. tonight.

Lexington 12, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 0 (Game 1)

LEXINGTON - Emmanuel Mitchell was the losing pitcher for the Bruins in the first half of the doubleheader.

Lexington 12, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 0 (Game 2)

LEXINGTON - Michael Mann took the loss for O-W against the Wildcats.

Marvin Howell was 2-for-2 in the loss with three stolen bases.

O-W (2-9) will travel to North Augusta for a doubleheader on Friday at 6 p.m.

Varsity Softball

HHA 7, St. John's 0

HOLLY HILL -- Katie Carpenter pitched a no-hitter, striking out 11 in five innings to lead HHA to the win.

Casie Mack led HHA at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double and a RBI; Taylor Owens was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI and Carpenter was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

HHA (18-8, 5-1) will travel to Walterboro to take on Colleton Prep Thursday at 6 p.m.

Varsity Golf

Williston-Elko 162, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 216


John Melton shot a 39 for the Blue Devils. Zack Smith finished the 9-hole round with a score of 41.

Zack Neville posted a 44 for W-E while Ben Alderman finished with a 48.

O-W was led by Adonis Harley, who shot a 50 in the loss. Vernon Harris and Paul Harris shot a 55 for the Bruins. Justin Harris came away with a score of 56.

O-W (2-2) will host Colleton County at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Hillcrest.

JV softball

Holly Hill Academy 19, St. John’s Academy 4


HOLLY HILL – Kayla Crider (4-7) earned the win for the Lady Raiders.

Crider also contributed offensively with a grand slam.

HHA improves to 4-7 and will travel to Colleton Prep on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Festival of Roses Softball Tournament


The Orangeburg Parks and Recreation Department will host the Festival of Roses Softball Tournament.

The entry fee is $125 and must be paid no later than 5 p.m. on April 29. For more information, contact Ike Haigler at (803) 533-6020.

Youth Summer Basketball Registration

The Orangeburg Parks and Recreation Department will hold registration for the youth summer basketball season until April 24.

Children ages 8 to 12 are eligible to play. Participants will be placed in a league based on age.

There is a $45 registration fee per player. City residents will receive a $25 discount with valid proof of their physical address.
