Miss Elizabeth Elaine St.John and Mr. Chad Austin Adams, both of Hephzibah, Georgia, were united in marriage at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Springfield in Springfield, S.C.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. St.John, Jr. of Barnwell, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Vorisek and the late Mr. Charles Vorisek, Sr. of Yankeetown, Florida and Mrs. Delores St.John and the late Mr. Robert E. St.John, Sr., of Fort Myers, Florida.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene A. Adams of Springfield, S.C. He is the grandson of Mrs. Carolyn P. Hall and the late Mr. Cornelius J. Hall of Springfield, S.C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bailey D. (Bertie Lee) Adams of Norway, S.C.

Dr. Steven Gantt officiated the ceremony.

Maid of honor was Miss Mary St.John of Barnwell, S.C., sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Lauren Hall of Columbia, S.C., cousin of the groom; Miss Desiree King of Aiken, S.C., friend of the bride and groom; Miss Kelli Smith of Aiken, S.C., friend of the bride and groom; Miss Angela St.John of Barnwell, S.C., sister of the bride; and Miss Jodie Turner of Aiken, S.C., friend of the bride. The flower girl, sister of the bride, was Miss Teresa St.John of Barnwell, S.C.

Mr. Eugene A. Adams, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Matthew Adams of Aiken, S.C., brother of the groom, and friends of the groom: Mr. Matt Mole of Lexington, S.C.; Mr. Mac Hutto of Aiken, S.C.; Mr. Josh Curry of Savannah, GA; and Mr. David Lanier of North Augusta, S.C. The ring bearer was Master Parker Whittle of West Columbia, S.C., cousin of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Solomon Blatt Building in Barnwell State Park.

Mrs. Adams is a 2002 home school graduate and is pursuing a BS degree in biology. She is currently employed as a nuclear technician with GA Power, Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro, GA.

Mr. Adams is a 2000 graduate of Jefferson Davis Academy, 2004 graduate of USC Aiken with a BS in Exercise Science and Sports Science and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia.

After a wedding trip to Hilton Head, S.C., the couple will reside in Hephzibah, GA.
