COLUMBIA -- One of the biggest theatrical productions to ever play at the Koger Center for the Arts will headline the 2009-10 season of Broadway in Columbia, presented by Bank of America. "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" will bring its lavish costumes and sets to town April 26-27, 2010.

Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" has won the hearts of over 35 million people worldwide. This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters, sets, costumes and production numbers, including "Be Our Guest" and the beloved title song.

Other shows playing this season are "Tap Dogs," Oct. 21-22, 2009; "The Wizard of Oz," Jan. 11-12, 2010; "Cabaret," Feb. 10-11, and "Mamma Mia!" April 6-7.

"Tap Dogs," the international sensation created by Olivier Award-winning choreographer Dein Perry, is rough, tough, rocking theatrical entertainment and winner of 11 international awards.

The entire family will be captivated as they travel down the Yellow Brick Road and beyond with Dorothy, Toto and their friends the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow in "The Wizard of Oz," featuring breathtaking special effects, dazzling choreography and classic songs.

"Welcome to Cabaret ... " sings the emcee of the Kit Kat Club through painted lips, as the people of 1929 Berlin join him. "Cabaret," with music and lyrics by Kander and Ebb, walked away from its Broadway debut with 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

"Mamma Mia!" A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you'll never forget! The story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs propels this tale of love, laughter and frie-ip.

Season ticket prices for Broadway in Columbia range from $137-$277. Single tickets, if any are available, will go on sale approximately four weeks prior to the show.

For tickets, call 803-777-5112 or visit the Carolina Coliseum box office in Columbia.
