Celebrate the Fourth in Fort Motte

FORT MOTTE -- The eighth annual Fort Motte Reunion Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 4, on the town square in Fort Motte.

The festival will feature live entertainment by the Madison Bumble Bees and DJ Darryl Hampton, children's rides, face painting, clowns, a dunking booth, food, and vendors selling clothes, arts and crafts, jewelry, CDs, DVDs, photography, gardening supplies and more. Also featured will be free Fort Motte historical, cultural and genealogical displays and tours, a BBQ grill cook-off and a horse shoe contest.

Admission to the festival, sponsored by the Friends of Fort Motte, is free.

A free pre-Fort Motte festival softball game will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, at the Fort Motte Community Center on New Bethany Road.

To get to the Fort Motte Reunion Festival, take U.S. 601 to U.S. 419. Travel 2 miles to Main Street, and end at the Fort Motte town square. Parking, facilities and access for seniors and handicapped individuals is available.
