Houser - Vaughn
Sunday, June 28, 2009Kimberly Monique Houser and Wally Glendale Vaughn, Jr., both of Goldsboro, N.C., were united in marriage at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at St. Mark United Methodist Church in North, S.C.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hook of North. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Willie B. Colter and Ms. Mary E. Davis of Orangeburg, S.C. and Mr. Nathaniel Binyard and Mrs. Josephine Hook-Benyard of Orangeburg.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wally G. Vaughn, Sr., of Alexandria, VA. He is the grandson of Mrs. Florence B. Vaughn of Sumter, S.C. and Mr. Joseph C. Hunt of Suffolk, VA.
Rev. Thomas Pearson officiated the ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Matron of honor was YaShunte Wright of Orangeburg, friend of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Ashley Haynes of Columbia, S.C., cousin of the bride; Courtney Golden of Orangeburg, cousin of the bride and Monica Benyard of Charleston, S.C., cousin of the bride.
Best man was Ricardo Bowman of Bishopville, S.C., friend of the groom.
Groomsmen were Marcus Houser of Neeses, S.C., brother of the bride; Renealdo Levy of Atlanta, GA, friend of the groom and Scottie Chapman of Brandon, FL, friend of the groom.
Ring bearer was Derek Ellison, nephew of the bride.
Flower girls were Zamarria Houser, niece of the bride and Mylah Brewton, God daughter of the groom.
Bible carrier was Malik Houser, nephew of the bride.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in The Garden Room in Orangeburg.
After a wedding trip to the Eastern Caribbean the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Mrs. Vaughn is a 2004 graduate of South Carolina State University with a B.S. degree in Family and Consumer Sciences/Child Development and a 2007 graduate of SCSU with a M.A.T. degree in Early Childhood Education. She is currently employed as a Kindergarten Teacher at Dillard Academy Charter School in Goldsboro.
Mr. Vaughn is a 2005 graduate of South Carolina State University with a B.A. degree in Speech Language Pathology and a 2007 graduate of SCSU with a M.A. degree in Speech Language Pathology. He is currently employed as a Speech Language Pathologist at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
