FLORENCE - Wyatt Rucker’s solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning lifted Lake Marion to a 4-3 victory in six innings over McLeod Park in the Dixie Youth Majors State Tournament.
Rucker, who also picked up the win for Lake Marion, tied the Little League state record with five home runs in the tournament. Robert Lewis III also contributed with a 2-RBI single.
The win keeps Lake Marion’s tournament hopes alive. They’ll look to remain in contention for the tournament title tonight at 8 p.m. when they face either Surfside or Hartsville.
Registration for children’s martial arts now open
JB Martial Arts is now registering for the Kid Tiger’s program for children ages 3-4. The program begins August 17th. Please call (803) 937-6910 for more information.
Physicals to be held at North High School
Physicals will be held in the North High School Gym on July 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The fee is $15 for student-athletes. Student-athletes must have cash only. All physical forms must be signed by a parent or guardian. For more information, call (803) 247-2541.
Carolina Pro All-Star Football Camp
The CPA Football Camp will be held on August 8 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Word of Faith Church in St. Matthews. The camp will be for ages 4-12. The registration fee is $40 for ages 4-7 and $50 for ages 8-12. The payment may be made in cash, with a money order or cashiers check. Full payment must be received at registration. Youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to sign up.
