SANTEE -- The 12th annual Charity Golf Tournament sponsored by The Fishers of Men of Eastern Orangeburg County and The Historic Church of the Epiphany will be played on Aug. 22 at the Santee-Cooper Resort and Country Club in Santee.

The two charities that will split the proceeds of the tournament are The Hebron Grace Home for Women in Vance and the Community Christian Youth Center in Eutawville.

Grace Home, a division of Hebron Ministries of Boone, N.C., is a faith-based Christian residential treatment center for women struggling with chemical addiction. Grace Home provides space for 14 women to receive an intensive 10-week residential ministry, without fee.

The Community Christian Youth Center in Eutawville, a convenient and safe venue for all the youth of the surrounding communities, is in its fourth year of operation. Built and staffed by community volunteers, it receives much of its annual operating cost from the golf tournament. Without any fees charged to its participants, it continues to be the home of many established youth programs, such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, various church youth ministries and youth programs, as well as many specialized services like after-school tutoring provided by volunteers.

A continental breakfast will be served prior to the 9 a.m. shotgun start. Throughout the play, two beverage carts will provide free cold beverages for all the players. As soon as each foursome concludes the 18th hole, lunch will be provided in the clubhouse.

Celebrity chairman of this year's tourney is retired South Carolina State University Coach Willie Jeffries.

Those interested in playing in the tournament, making a charitable contribution or volunteering to help with the event are asked to call the Epiphany Church office at 803-492-7644.
