Man wasn't actually shot, police chief says
By T&D Staff Monday, August 17, 2009NORWAY -- Shots were probably fired and someone left the scene bleeding, but police now think a Norway man may not have actually been shot Saturday afternoon.
Norway Police Chief Chris Golden says it now seems the victim was not shot as originally thought.
As for the victim, "I'm not sure he knew what happened," Golden said.
The victim was taken to the Regional Medical Center, where a doctor said the wound could have been an abrasion from a gun, Golden said. The doctor said there was no gunshot residue on the man's face.
The man was given stitches and released, the chief said.
The investigation into the Harrison Avenue incident is continuing.
