 Varsity Volleyball

Branchville defeats Bowman Academy

BRANCHVILLE -- Branchville topped Bowman Academy 25-9, 25-7, 25-6.

Brooke Easterling led the way for Branchville with 22 points, 18 aces and a kill.

Branchville (2-1) travels to Hanahan today at 5:30 p.m.

Bethune-Bowman opens season with win

SUMMERTON - The Lady Mohawks swept the Scott’s Branch 25-22, 25-11, 25-20.

Franchesca Hook led the way for Bethune-Bowman with 19 points, six kills and four spikes. Mya Berry totaled nine points. Sharday Summers provided 19 assists and seven points and DeJoria Howard added five kills and four spikes.

The Lady Mohawks (1-0) will head to Lake Marion on Thursday.

Dutch Fork beats Bruinettes

IRMO - Orangeburg-Wilkinson suffered their second loss this season to Dutch Fork 25-19, 27-25, 25-18.

Chymaine Guinyard led the way with 15 blocks and four kills in the loss. Breanna Baxter had 12 points and three kills. Chaquitta Anderson finished with six points and five kills while Kayla Wright added 15 assists and six points.

O-W travels to Lexington on Thursday.

Orangeburg Prep extends streak to eight

The Lady Indians defeated Calhoun Academy 25-8, 25-13, 25-17.

Brandy McRae had nine aces including seven in the second game, eight kills and four digs. Kayla Mims finished with nine kills, three digs two aces and an assist. Annie Westlund came away with 28 assists, four aces, four digs and two kills. Sallie Covington tallied 12 kills, three digs, two aces and a block.

OPS (8-0) will host Robert E. Lee on Monday.

Holly Hill drops Dorchester Academy

HOLLY HILL - HHA downs Dorchester Academy 25-9, 25-12, 25-12.

Wehme Carolyn Hutto led the host Lady Raiders with 10 kills, four aces, three digs and two blocks. Chelsea Nester ended the night with eight kills, eight digs and four aces. Sara Shuler had seven kills, four digs, two aces and a block. Emily Watkins posted six digs, three kills, an ace and a block while Katlin Rush recorded 12 assists, three aces, two kills.

HHA (7-1, 3-0) will head to Laurence Manning on Thursday.

JV Volleyball

Dutch Fork downs O-W ( Dutch Fork)IRMO - The Bruinettes were defeated by 25-16, 25-4.

The Bruinettes fall to 0-2 and will host Lexington on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Holly Hill picks up fifth win

HOLLY HILL - HHA defeats the visiting Lady Raiders 25-16, 25-7.

Abby Winquest had six aces and four kills in the win. Mayna Cason came up with five aces and four kills. Reagan Mobley added four aces, three assists and a kill.

HHA (5-1, 3-0) will travel to Laurence Manning on Thursday.

Orangeburg Prep survives three-game battle with Lady Cavaliers

Orangeburg Prep remains unbeaten by defeating Calhoun Academy 25-13, 24-26, 25-23.

Victoria Biltz led the way with 12 points. Sami Hooker and Tiffany Ferguson each provided seven points.

Tatum Watford came away with six points.

OPS (8-0) will take on Robert E. Lee at home on Sept. 14 at 4 p.m.

FLORENCE - The loss drops the Lady Indians to 8-3 on the season.

Orangeburg Prep will compete in the Warhawk Invitational on Saturday in Walterboro at 9 a.m.
