Bethune-Bowman 32, North 12

ROWESVILLE -- Tyrone Fairey put on a show with 24 carries for 161 yards and six touchdowns, scoring all the points for the Mohawks in the win.

Bernard Mack chipped in with 60 yards on 12 carries. Nick Jones was 5 of 9 through the air for 73 yards including a 45-yard pass to Nkosi Hollman, who finished with three catches for 62 yards, for Bethune-Bowman.

Defensively, Trevelle Stephens led the way with seven tackles, one forced fumble, and a blocked field goal. The Mohawks recorded two interceptions, one by Fairey and the other by Hollman.

Bethune-Bowman (2-1) travels to Allendale-Fairfax next week.

Calhoun Academy 13, Florence Christian 7

ST. MATTHEWS -- Jamie Sanders totaled 120 all-purpose yards and one touchdown in the Cavaliers win.

Jordan Rucker was 8 of 19 passing for 111 yards and one touchdown, and Bryan Love tallied 55 yards on 15 carries as well as an 8-yard touchdown reception for Calhoun Academy. On defense, Caleb Chappell amassed 11 tackles.

Calhoun Academy improves to 3-0 on the season and hosts Richard Winn next week.

Dorchester Academy 41, Holly Hill Academy 14

DORCHESTER -- Senior Trevor Davis rushed 17 times for 113 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.

Nick McAlhaney was 7 of 15 passing for 105 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a score, as did brother Thomas McAlhaney.

Jamie Collins led the Raiders in receiving with three catches for 44 yards and one touchdown.

On defense, Michael Gruber led the way with seven tackles and one sack.

Zach Lawley and Travis Spence had touchdown runs in the losing effort.

Dorchester Academy travels to Colleton Prep next week.

Edisto 61, Branchville 0

BRANCHVILLE -- In a total team effort that saw six different Cougars find the end zone, Edisto notched their first victory of the season in a blowout win.

For Edisto, Derrick Jenkins rushed four times for 40 yards and two scores; Malik Brown carried three times for 85 yards and a touchdown, quarterback Tyler Davis was 2 of 2 passing for 60 yards and one touchdown and Deshawn Stevenson had three carries for 50 yards and a touchdown. Matt Darby led all receivers with 60 yards and one touchdown.

Jerrell Richardson and Tommy Joyner also scored for Edisto.

Defensively, Dillon Sheetz led the way with eight tackles. Joe Hilliard, Dalton Sutton, Randall Williams and Steven Butler all chipped in with six tackles apiece.

Branchville falls to 0-3 on the year, while Edisto improves to 1-3. The Cougars are off next week and return to hosts Lake Marion on September 25.

Clarendon Hall 42, Coastal Christian 0

MT. PLEASANT -- Three touches. Three scores. It was just that simple for William Bryant, who amassed 114 yards and three touchdowns on a mere three carries.

Quarterback Edwin Belser connected with Hunter Hodges for a touchdown in the victory. Waymon Hall had an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown and Justice Beach added a 45-yard touchdown run of his own.

The defense was big for Clarendon Hall in the shutout, forcing four turnovers and giving up just three first downs.

Clarendon Hall (1-3) hosts Palmetto Christian Academy next week.

Allendale-Fairfax 20, Blackville-Hilda 7

BLACKVILLE -- Bashaud Breeland rushed five times for 116 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Jerrell Priester added 112 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

Allendale-Fairfax went up early in the first quarter with a 16-yard touchdown run by Breeland after Blackville fumbled on their opening possession.

Later on in the first, Breeland dashed 61 yards to the end zone to put the Tigers up by two scores at the half.

In the third quarter, Jamel Dukes put his team on the board with a 1-yard touchdown run.

To cap the scoring, Priester scored from 6 yards out late in the fourth quarter.

With the win, Allendale-Fairfax improves to 3-0, while Blackville-Hilda falls to 2-1. Blackville opens region play next week when they host Wagener-Salley on homecoming night.

Jefferson Davis Academy 42, King's Academy 37

BLACKVILLE -- Nic Jamison led the Raider offense with 25 rushes for 229 yards and three touchdowns.

Braxton Fanning chipped in with 18 carries for 104 yards.

Quarterback Edward Givens went 9 of 19 passing for 186 yards and one touchdown.

On defense, Givens tallied seven tackles, one fumble recovery, and an interception return for touchdown.

Matthew Webster was the leading tackler with nine. He also nabbed two interceptions.

Jefferson Davis Academy travels to meet Patrick Henry next week.

Cross 26, Lake Marion 7

CROSS -- The Gators fell for the third straight week thanks to 12 unanswered second half point by Cross.

Nick Ravenell finished the night with 12 carries for 115 yards and Lake Marion's only touchdown of the game.

Todd Keitt came away with four catches for 37 yards in the loss.

Lake Marion will host Orangeburg-Wilkinson next week.
