Anna Hailey Powers and Jason Baynes Turnblad were united in marriage at 5:00 p.m. on September 19, 2009, at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Cheraw, S.C.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delton Wright Powers, Jr., of Cheraw. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Allan Streater of Cheraw; Mrs. Elaine Hailey Powers of Clio, S.C. and the late Delton Wright Powers.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Anton Turnblad, Jr., of Orangeburg, S.C. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Alexander Baynes of Winston Salem, N.C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Anton Turnblad, Sr., of Stillwater, MN.

Matron of honor was Mrs. Jillian Powers McLaurin of Charleston, S.C., sister of the bride.

Attendants were Miss Caroline Louann Turnblad of Orangeburg, sister of the groom; Miss Jayne Rowe Lee of Boone, N.C.; Miss Shannon Leigh Dowdy of Bennettsville, S.C.; Miss Britne’ Elizabeth Stubbs of Brevard, N.C.; Mrs. Rachel Bourne Shaw of Charleston and Miss Courtney Lee Avent of Charleston.

Best men were Mr. Ronald Anton Turnblad, Jr., of Orangeburg, father of the groom and Mr. Eric Madison Turnblad of Lake City, S.C., brother of the groom.

Groomsmen were Mr. Jake Stuart Powers of Cheraw, brother of the bride; Mr. Brandon Wells Shaw of Charleston; Mr. Richard Walker McAdams of Winter Haven, FL, Mr. Chad William Fuller of Charleston; Mr. Andrew Jacob Brown of Columbia, S.C. and Mr. Dimitrios Triadafillos Haftoglou of Madison, WI.

Ring bearer was Lochlan Thompson McLaurin, nephew of the bride.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at Moree’s River Lodge in Society Hill, S.C.

After a wedding trip to Aruba the couple will reside in Bennettsville, S.C.

Mrs. Turnblad is a 2004 graduate of Clemson University with a B.A. degree and a 2007 graduate of Charleston School of Law with a Juris Doctorate. She is currently employed as an Associate Attorney at the Powers Law Firm in Bennettsville.

Mr. Turnblad is a 2001 graduate of Furman University with a B.A. degree and a 2007 graduate of Charleston School of Law with a Juris Doctorate. He is currently employed as an Assistant Public Defender in the Fourth Judicial Circuit.
