Annette Edwards Davis of Silver Spring, Md. and D. Malone Zimmerman from Orangeburg, S. C. were united in marriage in Charlotte, N.C. at five o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, July 25, 2009.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Gwendolyn C. Edwards, formerly of Orangeburg, now residing in Charlotte, N.C. and the late Mr. Austin V. Edwards of Orangeburg, S.C.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Geraldyne P. Zimmerman and the late Mr. Dudley M. Zimmerman of Orangeburg, S.C.

The bride was given in marriage by her children, Mr. Jackson L. Davis, IV and Dr. Kimberly M. Davis both of Silver Spring, Md. Matron of Honor was Ms. Frances E. Hamilton, sister of the bride, from Charlotte, N.C. and the Best Man was Mr. Derek P. Jones, nephew of the groom, from San Diego, Ca.

Miss Gayle S. Davis, granddaughter of the bride, was the flower girl and her brother, Mr. Jackson L. Davis, V, grandson of the bride, was the ring bearer, both of Silver Spring, Md.

Cannon Julian Clarke of the Virgin Islands officiated at the ceremony and Mr. Anthony Wright of Charlotte, N.C. was the soloist and Mr. Charles Cructhfield of Charlotte, N.C. was the organist.

Assisting at the wedding ceremony were Ms. Marlo L. Zawarhi of Fort Wayne, In. and Ms. Amber L. Zimmerman of Miami, Fl., daughters of the groom; Mr. Frank H. Hamilton, III, of Washington, D. C., nephew of the bride, and Mr. Bernard V. McGraw from Charlotte, N.C., cousin of the groom.

The bride wore a powder pink, floor length, silk gown with a bolero of cascading ruffles, designed in Canada, accented by white pearl jewelry. A black tuxedo was worn by the groom. After the wedding a dinner dance was held in the Pavilion of the Doubletree Guest Suites in Charlotte. The couple spent their honeymoon on an Alaskan cruise followed by a visit to Vancouver, Canada, site of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
