Pact means growth for Elite Shavings
Saturday, October 10, 2009Elite Shavings LLC, a Bamberg manufacturer of pine shavings used for equine bedding, has signed an agreement with Transcon Trading Co. Inc. in Irmo to act as the sales organization for its international markets.
Elite Shavings will eventually employ 30-plus personnel in its operations. Utilizing pine trees harvested in South Carolina will create other downstream jobs in the state. The capability to manufacture 3 million-plus bags of shavings will place Elite Shavings in the top tier of producers in the United States.
Transcon Trading is an Export Management Co. with more than 30 years of experience in branding U.S.-made products in more than 75-plus countries. Highly specialized in the equine and small pet categories, it has over 250 distributors worldwide in these categories.
In partnering with Transcon, George Leontire, president, said, “We are pleased to forge this relationship with Transcon and to use their resources to develop our business in international markets.
